Family | The Cut Shoppe

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a layout in my traveler's notebook album.  I used the awesome Half Hearted cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

For my layout, I used the Crate Paper Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes- such a lovely collection and perfect for my family photo.

To begin the layout, I sized the cut file to fit in my traveler's notebook (approximately 4.25"x8.25").  I knew I wanted to bring the cut file over to the other page, so I added an additional column of the hearts.  I cut out the cut file using a woodgrain patterned paper from the collection- I always love a good woodgrain!

Next, I adhered the cut file to a white cardstock base, sized to fit in my album.  I added my photo and embellished around it using clear stickers, puffy stickers, and ephemera.

For the other side of the spread, I added the cut file to the edge of the page, also adding two strips of patterned paper from the collection.  I added a tag and a white acrylic piece to serve as my title.  I did some simple embellishing using some ephemera pieces and stickers.

I love how this layout turned out using this fun cut file!

Cherish This Moment In Time | Technique Tuesday

Hey friends!  I am excited to be here today sharing some amazing sets from Technique Tuesday.  For my project, I used the Remember When Scrapbooking Stamp Set and Oval & Rectangle Stitched Labels Crafting Dies.

Be sure to read to the bottom of this post for info on the Technique Tuesday Season of Thanks Sale!

Here's a look at my layout:

I created a pocket page layout in my Life Crafted Album (from Citrus Twist Kits) using mainly the Crate Paper Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes.

To begin my spread, I printed a cute photo of my youngest son, from a family photo session several years ago.  Such a fun photo!  I added some simple layers behind my photo using some ephemera pieces and a label sticker for the date.

Using the Oval & Rectangle Stitched Labels Crafting Dies, I die cut a patterned paper from the collection.  Then, using the Remember When Scrapbooking Stamps and black ink, I stamped the "This Moment in Time" sentiment to serve as my title.  This stamp set includes so many awesome sentiments- perfect for documenting those special photos and memories.

Next, I trimmed another one of the die cut labels in half, placing a portion at the top and bottom of the page.  I love the interest this simple touch adds to the layout!

For the other side of the spread, I trimmed two patterned papers to 3"x4" to fit in the pocket page.  I die cut another one of the rectangle stitched labels and added a stamped sentiment using black ink.  I used another ephemera piece and a puffy sticker for some simple embellishing.

For the other card, I die cut an oval stitched label and added a sentiment using a denim blue ink.  I placed the label at the edge of the card and trimmed the portion that hung off of the edge.  I added a vellum ephemera piece and a puffy sticker to complete the page.

Here's one final look at the layout using this amazing stamp and die set:

I love how this project came together using the Remember When Scrapbooking Stamp Set and Oval & Rectangle Stitched Labels Crafting Dies.  I hope you are inspired and will check out the Technique Tuesday Thanksgiving Stamps.

Gather Together | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm excited to be here with this week's Citrus Twist Kits Sunday Sketch challenge.  Today's sketch is so fun, and I hope you will be inspired to play along!

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

For my layout today, I chose to use the beautiful October Life Crafted "At My Table" Kit and the This Is Life Food Stories Stamp.  This kit and stamp set are perfect for any type of food-related documenting!

To begin my page, I decided to rotate the sketch so it would work better in my Life Crafted album.  I printed one of the traveler's notebook digital papers and trimmed it so I could use it on both sides of the spread.  Like the sketch, I decided to use two photos.  I trimmed a patterned paper from the Life Crafted kit and layered my photos on top, tearing a section of the paper at the bottom.  I love the texture this adds to the page.  Next, I fussy cut the floral piece from one of the journaling cards.  I thought it worked perfectly between my two photos.  I stamped a sentiment from the This Is Life Food Stories Stamp and added it over the wording on the card.  I thought it worked better with my layout.

Next, I used some of the digital cut aparts, that are available for this month, to embellish the page.  They are such a nice addition to the kit and are free for kit subscribers!  I added some stamping to the labels and added a few of the puffy and chipboard heart stickers from the kit to finish off the page.

For the other side of the layout, I trimmed a few of the patterned papers into strips and adhered them to the page, also tearing one of the strips.  Next, I added some machine stitching along the edges of the paper.  I love the interest and texture this adds!  For the title, I used some of the mint tiny alphabet stickers and a metallic puffy phrase sticker.

To embellish the page, I added some labels and a puffy scallop sticker.  I just LOVE the metallic puffy stickers in the kit this month!  I typed my journaling, trimmed it into strips, and adhered it to the page.

My layout came together so quickly using this awesome sketch!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will play along with this sketch challenge and share your project with us on the CTK Fan Facebook Page!

Fabulous Fall | Technique Tuesday

Hey friends!  Marsha here with you today with a layout using the Fall Favorites Stamp Set, along with the Fall Favorites Crafting Dies and Leaves Crafting Dies.  These sets are so fun and are perfect for any type of Fall documenting.

Here is the layout I created using these sets:

For my project, I used a Life Crafted Album from Citrus Twist Kits.  To begin, I printed a traveler's notebook paper from the Traci Reed I Heart Fall digital collection.  I hand cut a tag shape from a blue paper, also from this collection.  For my title, I used some stamps from the Fall Favorites Stamp Set and stamped onto the tag.  Using the crafting dies, I cut out some leaf shapes using a variety of patterned papers and layered them over the tag.  I also stamped a leaf onto one of the die cuts using dark gray ink.

For the other side of the spread, I began by printing a photo taken on a family trip to the Great Smoky Mountains last year.  I stamped one of the phrases onto a piece of patterned paper and trimmed it out using a circle punch.  I die cut more leaves and added them to the cluster.

Using the Fall Favorites Stamp Set, I stamped a sentiment directly on the cardstock base using black ink.  Using the Leaves Crafting Dies, I cut out another leaf to layer below the stamping.  Next, I stamped  "favorite" onto a piece of white cardstock, trimmed it out, and attached it to the page using staples for added texture.  To finish off the page, I added a torn strip of patterned paper and an ephemera piece listing the date and location.

Here is one final look at the layout:

This was such a fun project to create using the Fall Favorites Stamp SetFall Favorites Crafting Dies, and Leaves Crafting Dies.  They are part of the Memory Keepers Studio Stamps and the Fresh Cut Studio Craft Dies.  Be sure to check them out in the Technique Tuesday Shop.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Halloween Things | The Cut Shoppe

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a layout in my new "October Memories" traveler's notebook.  I love seeing all of the October Daily projects being shared in the creative community but know I will never be able to keep up with daily documenting.  I decided to print some of my October photos from years past and document them in a new album I'm calling "October Memories."   It sounds like fun, right?

For my layout today, I used the Halloween Things cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

I chose to use the Simple Stories Happy Haunting collection and the digital TN papers from the Traci Reed Ghouls Like You collection.  I thought these collections worked perfectly with the cut file and the fun photo of my husband and me taken a few years ago at a Halloween party.

To begin the page, I cut out the cut file using a star patterned paper.  I backed each word with a different paper from the TN collection.  I love how the cut file pops using these patterned papers!  Next, I used some of the ephemera pieces to embellish the page.

For the other side of the spread, I printed my journaling on a piece of white cardstock.  I added my photo and used more ephemera pieces and chipboard to embellish the page.

To finish off the layout, I added a bit of stamping using some star and dot clear stamps.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I will see you again soon to share more projects using the awesome cut files from The Cut Shoppe Store!

xo,
Marsha

You Are Loved | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today with this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge.  This is one of my favorite challenges, because it's such a great way to get your creativity flowing by focusing on three key elements.

Here are the prompts:

1. Play with hexagons
2. Use a cut file
3. Add PURPLE

Here is my take on the challenge:

For my project, I used the October Scrapbooking Add-on Kit, the Life Crafted "At My Table" Kit, and a subscriber exclusive cut file- Screen 4.  I love the bright colors in the kits this month, especially the gorgeous purple!  In my opinion, it's not used nearly enough in scrapbooking products!

I decided to create a layout in my Life Crafted album documenting a fun photo taken at my grandmother's 90th birthday party earlier this year.   I began by cutting out the cut file using white cardstock.  I layered it over a piece of grid patterned paper from the Add-on kit, trimmed to 5"x8.25" (to fit in the LC album).  Next, I backed several of the hexagons with patterned papers from the Life Crafted kit, also adding foam behind one of the hexagons for added interest.  For the title, I used some puffy phrase stickers from the Pink Paislee Truly Grateful collection, found in the Add-on kit.  To embellish the page, I added some ephemera pieces, a butterfly, and a puffy heart sticker, all from the kits.

For the other page, I added a piece of purple patterned paper behind my photo.  I trimmed out a couple more hexagon shapes and added them around the page.  This made the spread more cohesive by using this shape on both sides of the layout.  Next, I used some puffy stickers and ephemera pieces to embellish.  Using the Life Crafted Stamp, I added some stamping to some of the clusters.  I also added some hand-written journaling to each side of my photo.  I prefer the look of typewriter or computer printed journaling, but it's nice sometimes to use my own handwriting, even if it is imperfect.

I love how this layout came together using these amazing kits!

Here's one final look at the spread:
