3-to-Inspire Life Crafted Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey, friends!  It's Marsha here today with another 3-to-Inspire challenge!  I used mainly products from this month's release to create this layout in my Life Crafted album.

Here are this week's prompts:

1. Create a grid design
2. Use cork embellishments
3. Incorporate hidden journaling

For my layout today, I knew I wanted to use a grid design and include some of my favorite patterned papers from the Peachy Keen 6x8 Paper Pad.  I trimmed three of the papers into 2x2 inch squares and arranged them, along with some ephemera pieces from the Butterflies and Tags Die-Cut Ephemera, in a grid design on the page.  I considered using a Life Crafted page protector but opted to create the design on white cardstock instead.  This allowed me to add more dimensional elements and include a longer chipboard title.

I created the title using the Woodgrain Chipboard Alphabet Stickers.  I also used a border punch to punch a scolloped strip of woodgrain paper and added it below the title.  I like the added detail this provides, and it also helps to ground the title.  To complete this side of the layout, I embellished a few of the squares with the Loved This Day Puffy Stickers and the Chasing Rainbows Cork Stickers.

For the other side of the layout, I layered patterned papers from the Peachy Keen 6x8 paper pad behind my photo and created a pocket to hold my journaling tag.

I typed my journaling and printed it on a digital journaling card from the May 2021 Digital Journaling Cards.  I trimmed the card into a tag shape and added a strip of patterned paper to the top of the tag for extra interest.  I slipped the tag into the pocket behind my photo.  Incorporating hidden journaling is a great way to include the story without it being a feature on the layout.

I love how this spread turned out using the products from this month's release!

I hope you are inspired to use these 3-to-Inspire prompts on your next project!  Thank you for stopping by today!

Sunday Sketch Challenge | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm excited to be here today hosting the Citrus Twist Kits Sunday Sketch Challenge.  The sketch this week is perfect- full of so many fun details!

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my Life Crafted layout based on the sketch:

To begin the layout, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to fit as a full page in the album.  One of my favorite features of the sketch is the repeat stamping along the bottom of the page.  I chose a phrase stamp from the new Storytelling Stamp and did some repeat stamping using black ink.  I added some second-generation stamping to get variation in intensity.  A die-cut heart from the Hearts & Such Die-Cut Ephemera looks perfect adhered over the stamping.

I added my photo above the stamping, layering it over a piece of patterned paper from the Crate Paper Marigold 6x8 Paper Pad along with a doily and vellum from my stash. To embellish the page, I added some labels and a floral die-cut piece from the Hearts & Such Die-Cut Ephemera.  I continued to follow the sketch and added a stamped circular element using the Storytelling Stamp and light gray ink.

I chose to add the title on the left page of the spread and added it to a digital traveler's notebook paper from the Wild at Heart Digital TN Papers.  I also added a label from the Hearts & Such Die-Cut Ephemera and did a bit more stamping using the Storytelling Stamp.  To finish off the spread, I added some machine stitching to a few areas of the layout and added some puffy heart stickers from the Whimsical Hearts Puffy Stickers.

I hope you are inspired to create a layout based on this week's sketch!  Be sure to share your projects with us on Instagram using the hashtag #citrustwistkits.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Sunday Sketch Traveler's Notebook Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm excited to be hosting this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge on the Citrus Twist Kits' blog today.  I always love using sketches, and this one was so fun to work with.

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my layout based on the sketch:

I chose to create a Life Crafted layout rather than the 8.5 x 11 size represented in the sketch.  That's one of the great things about using sketches- you can be inspired by them but create a layout in a format that suits your style.

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees counter-clockwise, so the photo was on the right side of the spread and trimmed a patterned paper from the Crate Paper Marigold 6x8 Paper Pad to use as the background.  I printed my picture and trimmed it to look like an Instax because I knew I wanted to use some of the Instax ephemera pieces from the Hearts and Such Die-cut Ephemera.  Following the sketch, I added some patterned paper layers behind my photo and used the ephemera die-cuts and Sunshine Puffy Alphabets to embellish.

I also did some stamping using the Currently Stamp- one of my favorite stamp sets from the shop because it includes so many words and phrases that can be used on any type of project.  To finish this side of the spread, I added some of the Heartbeats Vol 2 Wood Veneer.

On the left side of the layout, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to use as the background.  I changed up the sketch to include an embellishment cluster at the top of the page using more of the ephemera pieces.  I followed the sketch and added some handwritten journaling to the page.

I also added a bit more stamping using the Currently Stamp.  For the title, I used an ephemera word die-cut and a Heartbeats Vol 1 Wood Veneer.  To finish off the page, I added some machine stitching to a few of the ephemera hearts.  This was one of my favorite features of this week's sketch!

I hope I have inspired you to create a layout based on the sketch.  Be sure to share your projects with us on Instagram using the hashtag #citrustwistkits.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Sunday Sketch | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm excited to be here today with this week's Sunday Sketch challenge!  I created a spread in my December Stories Life Crafted album using the Sparkle & Joy kit and digitals from the shop.

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

I love the design of this sketch, so I chose to follow it fairly closely.  I began the layout by trimming a music patterned paper to fit as a full page in the album.  I chose to flip the design and added my photo to the left side of the spread.  I trimmed a woodgrain patterned paper from the kit so that it spanned both pages and added my photo onto it.  With my Silhouette Cameo, I cut out several snowflakes using the Love - Christmas 2020 cut file.  The cut file was quite delicate, so I offset it slightly, making it a little easier to cut.  I layered some of the snowflakes below the photo, in place of the leaf design on the sketch.

I also added a snowflake onto the photo and at the top of the right page, carrying the design across the spread.  Using the Sparkle & Joy kit stamp, I stamped a few words and phrases, trimmed them into strips, and added them to a few areas of the spread.

For the right side of the layout, I created a pocket using one of the journaling cards from the kit.  I layered a circular piece over it (die cut from another journaling card).  I created the title using a puffy word sticker and Candy Apple Puffy Alphabet Stickers.

I typed my journaling onto a Comfort & Joy Digital Journal card, printed it out, and added some ribbon from my stash to the top.  As a final finishing touch, I added a few more puffy stickers from the kit around the spread.

I hope you will join in on the challenge and create a layout based on this week's sketch!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Life Crafted Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends! I'm here today sharing a Life Crafted album layout using some of the new products available in the shop this month.

Here's a look at the spread:

I was inspired by the awesome new Get Messy stamp to create a layout documenting a recent photo of me crafting in my studio.  This stamp features so many sentiments and icons that are perfect for documenting creativity.  I trimmed two white cardstock pieces to 5"x8.25" to begin the layout.  Using the Crate Paper Marigold 6x8 Paper Pad, I chose a few papers and trimmed them down to approximately 2" square.  I also tore one of the edges of each paper for a bit of added texture.  I stamped the numbers 1, 2, and 3 on each patterned paper using the Big Numbers stamp and black ink.  Next, I layered a floral ephemera piece from the Florals Ephemera behind each number and added messy machine stitching with black thread.

I added more stamping beside each number using the Get Messy stamp.  I love the fun sentiments in this stamp set!  To complete this page, I added a few more ephemera pieces and some of the Sunshine Puffy Alphabet Stickers.

I trimmed a piece of patterned paper for the right side of the spread and adhered it to the white cardstock base.  I layered another patterned paper behind my photo and added them to the layout.  Then, I used some of the Tickets & Tags Ephemera and Florals Ephemera to embellish the spread.

I did a bit more stamping using the Get Messy stamp and added some machine stitching to finish the layout.

I love how this spread turned out using new items available in the shop!

3-To-Inspire Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today hosting this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge for Citrus Twist Kits.  I created a layout in my Life Crafted Album using this month's Life Crafted Legendary kit and the Scrapbooking Addon kit.  I also used the This Is Life Legends stamp and the Traveler's Notebook stamp-- it wouldn't be one of my layouts without at least a little bit of stamping!

Here are the prompts:

1. Feature one stamp or stamp set

2. Use 5 or more patterned papers

3. Use a variety of embellishments

For my layout today, I wanted to document a photo of my sweet little niece.  I planned to use a variety of colors and patterns, so I chose to print the photo in black and white.  I began the spread by stamping the frame from the This Is Life Legends stamp using black ink onto several patterned papers from the LC and Addon kits.  I also used the packaging from stickers in the Addon kit and an ephemera die cut from the LC kit.  Next, I trimmed around the stamped images and arranged them vertically on the page.

I embellished the stamped frames with additional stamping and stickers.  I also added a floral die cut below the frames for a bit of extra interest.

On the left side of the spread, I trimmed a patterned paper from the LC kit and adhered it to the edge of a white cardstock base.  I added my photo and did some simple embellishing using ephemera, chipboard stickers, and puffy stickers.  I also added another one of the stamped frames so that the pages would feel more cohesive.

I love how the layout turned out using this month's kits and stamps!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you are inspired to create a layout based on these prompts!

Life Crafted Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a layout in my Life Crafted album!  I used the beautiful new November Life Crafted "Legendary" kitThis Is Life "Legends" stamp, and digital files from the shop.

Here's a look at the spread:

I was excited to try out the new Life Crafted page protectors that have four Instax-sized pockets.  To begin the layout, I resized two of the digital journaling cards from the kit and one of my photos to fit the pockets. I also typed my journaling and the date onto the cards before printing them out.  For my title, I used the Black Foam Alphabet Stickers and the Soft Mint Puffy Alphabet Stickers and added them to one of the printed cards.  I also added the word "yum" with the foam alphabet stickers to my Instax photo.  I trimmed a patterned paper from the kit to fit in another pocket and did some machine stitching for a bit of added texture.  To finish off the page, I added some stamping with the This Is Life stamp and black and light blue.

For the right side of the layout, I trimmed two patterned papers from the kit and adhered them along the edge of the page.  I added my photo and embellished with some labels from the kit and a printed label from the Printable Cutapart Elements.  I also added an ephemera tag and a mini paper clip from my stash.

I did a bit more stamping with the This Is Life stamp and the LC kit stamp on some of the labels.  I also added a black puffy sticker and some puffy heart stickers, along with another ephemera piece. To finish off the page, I did some machine stitching along the edge of the patterned paper using black thread.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you to document some of your stories using this month's kit.  I will see you again soon!

Sunday Sketch Challenge | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I am here today with this week's Sunday Sketch challenge for Citrus Twist Kits!  I used the October Scrapbooking Add-on kit, the Life Crafted "Flourish" kit, and the This Is Life "Ready for This" stamp.

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my layout based on the sketch:

I loved the design of the sketch and followed it pretty closely, with only a few minor changes.  I chose to convert the sketch from a 12x12 layout to a Life Crafted album layout.  Instead of two smaller photos, I chose to use one larger portrait photo.  I followed the sketch and added some layers behind the photo using several ephemera pieces from the Add-on kit.  I also added a fussy cut floral, a few ephemera die-cuts, and some gold puffy leaf stickers around the photo.  The vintage lace trim from the Add-on kit was perfect to add to the ephemera tag.

I typed my journaling and added it in strips below the photo.  I also added some pink tiny word stickers to the edge of the photo, following the placement of the labels from the sketch.

On the right side of the layout, I trimmed a ledger patterned paper to fit as a full page in the album.  I created the title using a gold puffy word sticker and the Soft Mint Alphabet stickers, both from the Add-on kit.  I also used some pale pink alpha stickers from a previous Life Crafted kit.  I added some stamping to both pages of the spread using the "Ready for This" stamp and the LC kit stamp.  A trimmed ephemera tag was the perfect touch below the title. To finish off the layout, I added a bit of machine stitching using black thread to several areas around the spread.

I love how this Life Crafted layout turned out using this month's gorgeous kits!  I hope you will join in on this sketch challenge and share your layouts with us on the CTK Fan Facebook page or on Instagram using the hashtag #citrustwistkits.  I will see you again soon!
