Sunday Sketch Challenge | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today with this week's Sunday Sketch challenge!  I used the beautiful July "Wild at Heart" Kit and the Traveler's Notebook Stamp.

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

I chose to convert the sketch from a 12x12 layout to a traveler's notebook spread.  Other than that, I stuck pretty closely with it.

To begin the spread, I printed a ledger paper from the Documenter Traveler's Notebook Basics Ver. 1 Digital Papers to use as the background.  I trimmed two papers from the kit to span across both pages and added an ephemera piece to the page, in the place of one of the photos from the sketch.  I layered a few brightly colored labels under the edge of the patterned papers.  I also added a butterfly ephemera piece, stitching through the center and folding up the wings.  I always love doing this when using butterflies on a layout.  Next, I trimmed a narrow strip of the floral paper and adhered it across the top of the spread.

Following the sketch, I cut two triangular pieces of patterned paper and added them to the top of the page, punching a heart shape out of one of the papers.  I stamped a sentiment using the Traveler's Notebook Stamp.  Then, I added my photo on the right side of the spread, layering it over the patterned papers.  I trimmed a tag shape out of a book print patterned paper and tucked it under the photo, adding a piece of white twine for additional texture.

On the left side of the layout, using the Traveler's Notebook Stamp, I stamped some sentiments in black ink.  I typed my journaling, cut it into strips, and adhered it to page.  To complete the layout, I added a triangle-shaped piece cut from a book print patterned paper, punched a heart out of it, and backed it with a pink striped patterned paper.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I can't wait to see your take on this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge!

Life Crafted Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm excited to share my first project using the NEW July Life Crafted "Wild at Heart" Kit that just released!  It is so bright and gorgeous!  I also used the Bailey Stamp, this month's Add On stamps, and a variety of digital files.

Here's a look at my Life Crafted layout:

I began my spread by choosing two recent photos of my youngest son.  He loves all things outdoors, and I thought this kit would be perfect for documenting this memory.  I printed one of the TN Basics Digital Papers, recoloring the labels at the top of the page so that they would coordinate with the other elements I planned to use on the spread.  I layered my photo over a dark blue journaling card and used some labels, chipboard stickers, and enamel dots to embellish.  Next,  I added some stamping to the printed labels at the top of the page with the Life Crafted Stamp and the Traveler's Notebook Stamp.

I stamped the date using the Bailey Stamp onto a label from the Printable Cut Apart Elements and stapled it to the bottom of the page.  This alphabet stamp is my new FAVORITE!  I absolutely love the font, and it is the perfect size for using on Life Crafted layouts!

For the right side of the spread, I used a Life Crafted Page Protector #2.  I added a tab from this month's Printable Digital Tags, along with an ephemera label and heart, to add a bit more interest to the top of the photo.  Then, I created a flip-up by layering the photo over a journaling card from the LC Kit.  I stamped a sentiment with the LC kit stamp and a leaf from the This Is Life "Wild at Heart" Stamp.  I typed my journaling onto a piece of white cardstock and embellished with an ephemera piece.  Finally, I used a piece of cardstock to attach the photo and journaling cards, creating the flip-up.  I love using interactive elements on my LC layouts!

I chose another journaling card from the kit and used the black puffy alphabet stickers and the Bailey Stamp to create the title.  To complete the page, I added a chipboard sticker and a few of the bright enamel dots- another favorite from this month's kit!

I hope I have inspired you to document some of your memories using this month's amazing Life Crafted Kit, stamps, and digitals!  I'm excited to see what you create!

The Fun's Right Here | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a layout in my Life Crafted album.  I used the January "Fierce and Fabulous" kit and the Traveler's Notebook Stamp to create this spread.

Here's a look at my project:

This photo of my sons was taken last year at a family photo session, and I thought the colors in the kit this month worked perfectly with it.

To begin the spread, I resized and printed one of the digital 4x6 journaling cards to fit as a full page in the LC album.  I add the photo and stamped the date on a label from this month's printable cutaparts (free to subscribers).  I used an ephemera banner and some puffy stickers to embellish.

Next, I punched holes in three of the tassels from the kit ephemera and added some twine and staples.  I love how this adds a little bit of whimsy to the page!

For the other side of the spread, I used a Life Crafted Page Protector that has 2- 3x4 pockets.  For the first pocket, I used my favorite journaling card from the kit.  I love the little floral bouquet!  I trimmed a small strip of patterned paper, tore the edges, and stamped the word "details" using the Traveler's Notebook Stamp

For the other pocket, I used another journaling card from the kit.  I added some ephemera tickets, wrapping a bit of twine around one of them.  I also added some stamping using black ink and the TN Stamp Set.  I adhered the tickets to the page and added a staple and a heart puffy sticker.

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope this inspires you to add some pages to your Life Crafted album using this month's "Fierce and Fabulous" kit.

Currently Reading | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a layout in my Life Crafted Album using the Citrus Twist Kits January Fierce and Fabulous kit and Traveler's Notebook stamp.

Here's a look at the spread I created:

The book print paper from the kit this month was my FAVORITE, so I knew I had to feature it on a layout.  To begin the page, I trimmed the book print patterned paper so I could use a portion of it on both sides of the layout.  I chose the New Chapter ephemera piece to hold the title because I thought it worked perfectly with my reading themed page.  For the title, I used the bright and fun puffy foam alpha stickers from the kit.  Next, I used the Traveler's Notebook stamp and black ink to add the word "currently" and a phrase to the page.  I also stamped a few hearts using a light pink ink.

For the other side of the spread, I adhered the book print paper, folding and stapling the edge for added texture and interest.  I added my photo and layered some patterned papers from the kit behind it.  I used some fabric and cardstock ephemera pieces to embellish around the photo.

Using the TN stamp, I added a bit more stamping with black and pink ink.  I printed the journaling on my computer, cut it into strips, and adhered it to the page.  For the final finishing touch, I added some of the gorgeous glitter stars around the layout.

This layout came together so quickly and easily using the kit.  I just LOVE how it turned out!

City Views | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today with this week's 3-To-Inspire challenge for Citrus Twist Kits.  This is a fun challenge, perfect for focusing on some of the fun goodies in this month's Life Crafted "Explore" Kit!

Here are the prompts:

1. Add puffy stickers
2. Use a large photo
3. Use a 3x8 bookmark

By using this list as inspiration, I was able to quickly create a fun layout in my Life Crafted Album, documenting a photo from my New York City trip last year.

I always enjoy using the 3x8 bookmark included in the Life Crafted kits each month.  For a different look, I rotated the bookmark, trimmed the corners, and punched a hole at the top, creating a large tag shape.  I also added two tabs to the side using a grid patterned paper.  This allowed me to punch holes, so it could be added to the album.  Using the This Is Life "Let's Wander" Stamp, I stamped the title onto a woodgrain patterned paper and used a metal circle die to cut it out.  I then used a larger metal die to cut out another circle, layering them together using dimensional craft foam.

Next, I added some stamping to include the location and date.  Using the Traveler's Notebook Stamp, I added additional stamping to a label and adhered it to the edge of the tag.

For the other side of the layout, I added a 4x6 photo and used lots of the gorgeous puffy stickers from the Life Crafted Kit to embellish the page.  They were almost too lovely to use!

I'm excited to see what you create using these prompts!  Be sure to share your projects with us on the CTK Facebook Fan Page!

Lovely Details | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm hosting this week's Travelers Notebook Challenge on the Citrus Twist Kits blog.  I used the Life Crafted "Around Here" kit, along with the This is Life "Routine" stamp and the Travelers Notebook stamp.

My challenge for you today is to create a TN layout documenting one of your crafty or creative projects.  Here's a look at the spread I created documenting my first garment sewing adventure:

My mom is an amazing seamstress, but this is not a skill that I have inherited!  I love adding stitching to my scrapbook pages, but an actual garment is much more challenging for me.  It was fun getting this little story about myself documented.

The June "Around Here" kit is perfect for this type of project.  There are so many fun embellishments in the kit that work great for this type of documenting.  To begin my spread, I printed some photos of my sewing project.  I chose to highlight one photo on the page, and I added a tag behind the photo to hold the journaling and an additional photo.  I created the tag using one of this month's exclusive subscriber printable journaling cards.

The cute sewing machine ephemera piece worked perfectly on my page.  I added some stamping and used the tile alphas included in the kit to spell out the word "sewing."

For my title, I used a puffy foam phrase sticker and an ephemera die cut piece.  I absolutely LOVE the black puffy foam stickers this month and may have almost used the entire sheet!  They are great for titles and also include some fun icons.

To finish off the spread, I added some machine stitching to several areas on the page.  This was the perfect touch for my project about sewing.

Here's one final look at my TN layout:

Thanks for joining me today.  I can't wait to see your take on this week's TN Challenge!
