Whimsy Stamps Guest Designer | Traveler's Notebook Layout

Hey, friends! I'm excited to be with you today, sharing a traveler's notebook album layout for my first guest design post for Whimsy Stamps!

I created this spread to document my little niece's favorite birthday gift. I began by trimming two pieces of white cardstock to fit as full pages in my album. I added splatters to each page using black acrylic paint and a paintbrush. I chose a watercolor floral patterned paper from the Fabulous Florals Paper Pack and cut out several gorgeous flowers and flower clusters. Next, I trimmed a black and white striped paper from the same paper pack on the diagonal and cut it into a few strips, allowing space to tuck the fussy cut flowers.

I used another striped paper to back my photo and trimmed it into a tag shape. Tags are always a favorite, so I could not resist including one on the layout!

Using the Happy Large Word Die and black cardstock, I cut out the word "happy" to serve as a portion of the title. I completed the title with the Cross-Stitched Sentiments Stamp. Then, I did more stamping above the photo with the same stamp set and black ink.

I love how my layout turned out using Whimsy Stamps products!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I will see you again soon with more inspiration!

3-to-Inspire Life Crafted Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey, friends!  It's Marsha here today with another 3-to-Inspire challenge!  I used mainly products from this month's release to create this layout in my Life Crafted album.

Here are this week's prompts:

1. Create a grid design
2. Use cork embellishments
3. Incorporate hidden journaling

For my layout today, I knew I wanted to use a grid design and include some of my favorite patterned papers from the Peachy Keen 6x8 Paper Pad.  I trimmed three of the papers into 2x2 inch squares and arranged them, along with some ephemera pieces from the Butterflies and Tags Die-Cut Ephemera, in a grid design on the page.  I considered using a Life Crafted page protector but opted to create the design on white cardstock instead.  This allowed me to add more dimensional elements and include a longer chipboard title.

I created the title using the Woodgrain Chipboard Alphabet Stickers.  I also used a border punch to punch a scolloped strip of woodgrain paper and added it below the title.  I like the added detail this provides, and it also helps to ground the title.  To complete this side of the layout, I embellished a few of the squares with the Loved This Day Puffy Stickers and the Chasing Rainbows Cork Stickers.

For the other side of the layout, I layered patterned papers from the Peachy Keen 6x8 paper pad behind my photo and created a pocket to hold my journaling tag.

I typed my journaling and printed it on a digital journaling card from the May 2021 Digital Journaling Cards.  I trimmed the card into a tag shape and added a strip of patterned paper to the top of the tag for extra interest.  I slipped the tag into the pocket behind my photo.  Incorporating hidden journaling is a great way to include the story without it being a feature on the layout.

I love how this spread turned out using the products from this month's release!

I hope you are inspired to use these 3-to-Inspire prompts on your next project!  Thank you for stopping by today!

Sunday Sketch Traveler's Notebook Layout | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm excited to be hosting this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge on the Citrus Twist Kits' blog today.  I always love using sketches, and this one was so fun to work with.

Here's a look at the sketch:

Here's my layout based on the sketch:

I chose to create a Life Crafted layout rather than the 8.5 x 11 size represented in the sketch.  That's one of the great things about using sketches- you can be inspired by them but create a layout in a format that suits your style.

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees counter-clockwise, so the photo was on the right side of the spread and trimmed a patterned paper from the Crate Paper Marigold 6x8 Paper Pad to use as the background.  I printed my picture and trimmed it to look like an Instax because I knew I wanted to use some of the Instax ephemera pieces from the Hearts and Such Die-cut Ephemera.  Following the sketch, I added some patterned paper layers behind my photo and used the ephemera die-cuts and Sunshine Puffy Alphabets to embellish.

I also did some stamping using the Currently Stamp- one of my favorite stamp sets from the shop because it includes so many words and phrases that can be used on any type of project.  To finish this side of the spread, I added some of the Heartbeats Vol 2 Wood Veneer.

On the left side of the layout, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to use as the background.  I changed up the sketch to include an embellishment cluster at the top of the page using more of the ephemera pieces.  I followed the sketch and added some handwritten journaling to the page.

I also added a bit more stamping using the Currently Stamp.  For the title, I used an ephemera word die-cut and a Heartbeats Vol 1 Wood Veneer.  To finish off the page, I added some machine stitching to a few of the ephemera hearts.  This was one of my favorite features of this week's sketch!

I hope I have inspired you to create a layout based on the sketch.  Be sure to share your projects with us on Instagram using the hashtag #citrustwistkits.  I can't wait to see what you create!

November Reveal Traveler's Notebook Layout | Elle's Studio

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a traveler's notebook layout using the NEW November Kit and Extras that released today at Elle's Studio!  The new kit is so amazing!  I used this month's release to create my first November gallery project- a layout for my 2019 December Daily Album.  I am still filling in pages for this project and am so close to completing it!

The colors and designs in the release are gorgeous- perfect for documenting holiday memories! I used this month's kit, the Fa La La 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper Stackand the Jewel Polka Dot 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper Stack, along with the NEW Very Merry Chipboard Stickers and Christmas Tabs Stampto create the left side of my spread. A tiny star stamp from the Daily Tabs Stamp was the perfect addition to a stamped label.

I used the new Christmas Tabs Stamp, along with the Collected Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp, and Mini Dated Extras Stamp, to add some stamping on the right side of the spread. Elle's Studio stamps are always my favorite, and I am so excited about these new sets!

Below the photo, I added the title using the Merry and Bright Wood Veneer and the Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers.  I used an ampersand sticker from the Dark Green Puffy Alphabet Stickers to add a bit more interest to the wood veneer piece.  To complete the pages, I added some machine stitching and mini staples to a few areas of the spread.

I love how my layout turned out using these fabulous goodies! Be sure to stop by Elle's Studio shop to check out the November 2020 Kit and Add-ons!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you will check out the new goodies and enjoy some Elle's Studio crafty shopping!
