Back to School | The Cut Shoppe

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a traveler's notebook layout using the Background Check cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

When this cut file was added to the shop, I knew I wanted to create a layout documenting my sons' first day of school last year.  It is such a perfect cut file to use in a traveler's notebook, too!

To begin my layout, I cut out the cut file using white cardstock.  I backed the numbers three and nine using some patterned paper from my stash.  I chose to only back those two numbers, making them stand out from the background.  I then adhered the entire cut file to a piece of patterned paper.  To embellish this page, I added a few puffy stickers and used some alpha stamps to stamp my sons' names.

For the other side of the spread, I layered some patterned papers behind my photo and then used some ephemera pieces and puffy stickers to embellish the page.

I used some white puffy alpha stickers and alpha stamps to add the title.  I just love how this layout turned out using this cut file!

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope you will stop by The Cut Shoppe store and check out all of the fun cut files that are currently available!

Success Story | Citrus Twist Kits

Hey friends!  I'm here today sharing a layout in my Life Crafted Album.  I used the fabulous Citrus Twist Kits August Scrapbooking Add-on kit, the subscriber exclusive Ampersand Love cut file, and the Simple Words Version 2 stamps.

Here's a look at the layout:

For this layout, I began by cutting out the cut file using white cardstock.  Because I planned to use the cut file on the left side of the layout, I trimmed the thick white border from the left side of the cut file.  I backed the ampersand portion of the cut file with a patterned paper from the kit and mounted the entire file onto another patterned paper from the kit, trimmed to 5"x8.25" to fit in the Life Crafted Album.

I added the title using a fabric ephemera piece and a gold title piece, both from the kit.  Next, I added some stamping, another fabric ephemera piece and some puffy stickers to complete this side of the layout.

For the right side, I began by layering some patterned papers behind my photo.  I embellished around the photo using cardstock ephemera, puffy stickers, and fabric ephemera pieces.  I also added some stamping using the Simple Words Version 2 stamp.  This set includes so many fun sentiments!  Using some sharp scissors, I trimmed and pieced together two different stamps in the set to make a phrase I stamped at the top of the page.  Don't be afraid to make your stamps work for you and your layouts!

Here's a final look at the spread in my album:

Grateful Heart | The Cut Shoppe

Hey friends!  I'm here today with a fun traveler's notebook layout.  I used the new Background Check TN Decorative Page cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

For this layout, I mainly used the Everyday Musings and Joyful Day collections by Pinkfresh Studio.  To begin the spread, I cut out the frame portion of the cut file using white cardstock.  I then backed each section with a different patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pads.  The smaller patterns in these paper pads are perfect for backing cut files!  Next, I adhered the cut file to a piece of woodgrain patterned paper and a cardstock base, trimmed to fit in my album.

I added ephemera, cardstock stickers, and puffy stickers to embellish the frames, using foam dots to add dimension to some of the pieces.

For the other side of the layout, I layered patterned papers behind my photo and used ephemera and puffy stickers to embellish around the photo.

A white acrylic piece from Color Cast Designs, layered over a tag, worked perfectly as a title for the spread.

I love how this page came together using this traveler's notebook cut file!

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope you will check out this and the other fun cut files available in The Cut Shoppe store!

Egg Hunt

Hey friends!  I'm back with you today sharing a layout in my traveler's notebook.  I used the new Egg Hunt Cut File from The Cut Shoppe.

I thought this cut file would pair perfectly with the Everyday Musings collection from Pinkfresh Studio.  To begin my spread, I resized the cut file to fit in my traveler's notebook and cut it out on white cardstock.  I backed both words with different patterned papers from the collection.  Next, I trimmed the file in half using my paper trimmer, so it would fit in my TN.

For this layout, I chose a photo of my youngest son taken a couple of years ago at a church Easter egg hunt.  He has always loved hunting eggs, but this year he decided that he had rather eat the candy, than hunt more eggs!  I adhered my photo to a glassine bag and created a tag to slip inside for my journaling.  This is a great way to include journaling, but it not be a feature on the page.

Next, I created three embellishment clusters around the page using ephemera and puffy stickers.

To finish off the spread, I added some blue watercolor splatters.

Happiness

Hey friends!  I'm back today sharing a traveler's notebook layout using the Hexagon Heart cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

Heart cut files are my favorite ones to use on layouts.  When I saw this geometric heart, I couldn't resist using it in a big way on my spread.

For this layout, I used mainly the Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Day collection.  I began the page by using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the file using white cardstock.  I backed the cut file with some pink striped patterned paper from my stash.

Next, I layered some patterned paper behind my photo, and added some ephemera pieces and puffy stickers around the photo.  I also fussy cut a few elements from the patterned papers in this collection and added them to the page.  A large "happiness" puffy sticker serves as my title.

I added a small embellishment cluster at the top of the other page, using more ephemera pieces and puffy stickers.  How cute is that little pinwheel?!?  I wish there had been more of those in the pack!

At this point, I felt like the page was missing something, so I tore the background paper in two spots and added some patterned paper behind the torn areas.  To finish off the spread, I splattered some white acrylic paint.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will try using a large cut file on your next project!

Absolutely Love

Hello again!  It's been a while!  I love sharing all of my crafty projects with you, and I hope to make blogging more of a priority in the new year.

I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today sharing this fun traveler's notebook layout.  I used the Crazy Love cut file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store to create this spread.

I used mainly the Citrus Twist December 2018 Main kit to create this layout.  I started by choosing the background paper, a patterned paper with a beautiful mixed media look but none of the work!  It is from the Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills 2 collection.  I cut out the cut file using white cardstock and backed it with a navy dot paper.  I just love the bold look of this cut file!

I layered some die cuts and puffy stickers from the American Crafts Journal Studio collection, and added the other portion of my title using Pink Paislee Thickers.
For the other page, I used more of the die cuts to layer behind my photo.  I then used the puffy stickers, die cuts and an arrow paper clip to embellish the page.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you will come back soon to see the new projects I am creating!

Home

It's great to be back again today sharing a new layout in my ringed traveler's notebook.

I created this layout using the Felicity Jane Jeana digital kit along with some other Felicity Jane stamps and stickers from my stash.

I love the colors and theme of this kit and knew it would be perfect for documenting this photo of my home taken earlier this year.  My Bradford Pear tree was blooming and it's blooms almost looked like snow.

I sized the papers to 4.25" x 8.25" in Photoshop and printed them along with some of the digital ephemera and stamps that I knew I wanted to use on this spread.  I added the "my favorite place" digital stamp to the ombre paper before printing it.  I love this added detail!

I layered a piece of crate paper and some of the Jeana kit papers behind my photo, along with flowers from the kit that I had print and cut using my silhouette cameo.  Next, I stamped a few sentiments and a heart using one of my favorite Felicity Jane stamp sets.  I stapled one of the labels to the top of my photo for added interest and texture.

For the opposite page, I layered a tag and embroidery hoop, both from the digital ephemera.  I used puffy letter stickers for the title and added crochet thread to the tag.

I love how this layout came together!

Thanks for stopping by again today.  I have enjoyed sharing another layout with you!

Oh Happy Day

Hey friends!  I'm back with you today sharing a design team layout in my traveler's notebook that I created for The Cut Shoppe.  You can see my TCS blog post here.

I wanted to join in on the Go Big or Go Home Challenge on The Cut Shoppe Scrap Spot Facebook Group for the month of August, and you can read more about it here.

I used two cut files from The Cut Shoppe on my spread- the Go with the Flow cut file (August's FREEBIE FRIYAY cut file) and the Flower Arrangement cut file.

I mainly used papers and embellishments from the Pinkfresh Studio Simple & Sweet collection to complete this spread about my sister's baby shower.  It was such a fun day celebrating the future arrival of my first niece!

I cut out the Go with the Flow cut file using white cardstock and backed it with vellum.  I layered some textured paper behind my photo, along with a floral ephemera piece.  I cut out a few flowers from the Flower Arrangement cut file, also using white cardstock.  This cut file is my favorite for layering behind my photos!

Next, I added some machine stitching in several spots for added texture.  It was fun using my sewing machine again.  Now that I have set up my new craft room, I have easier access to my sewing machine and will be using it on my layouts again.

I stamped my title using a Felicity Jane alpha set and finished it off with some Pinkfresh Studio puffy letter stickers.  For the final finishing touches, I layered on a few more ephemera pieces and puffy stickers.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my latest layout!

Really!?!

Hi friends!  I'm back again today sharing a spread in my ringed traveler's notebook.  This is not my usual layout, though.  This one documents a not so fun day-- a day that was not perfect.

I received a mini kit from The Wild Hare Kits a few weeks ago, and knew it would be perfect for documenting my accident.  The kit contained several items from Pinkfresh Studio A Case of the Blahs collection.

I started by layering some of the papers from the A Case of the Blahs 6 x 6 paper pad.  I outlined some of the papers for added interest.  For the title, I used a stamp set from Feed Your Craft that has been in my stash for a while now.  I really love the boldness of this alpha set.  I also used a stamp set from Citrus Twist Kits that contained lots of sentiments that were perfect for this page.  I stamped them all, cut them out in strips, and adhered them to the page.  Next, I layered on several puffy stickers and completed my journaling.  For a final finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops.

This is another simple layout, but I love how it came together and I'm happy to have it documented.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my latest layout!

So Happy Together

Hey friends!  I'm back today sharing my first design team project for The Cut Shoppe!

I was so excited to create a spread in my ringed traveler's notebook using the new Endless Summer Printable and the Tall Titles cut file that were both added to The Cut Shoppe this week.

I opened the Endless Summer TN Printable - Autumn Rainbow paper in Photoshop and mirrored the image so the rainbow border would be the same on both sides of my spread.  I printed the Picnic Blanket printable paper and used it to cut out the Tall Titles word "together" and backed it with graph paper, one of my favorite prints to use in my TN.

I adhered an acrylic heart from Elle's Studio to add more interest and used some Pinkfresh Studio & Elle's Studio puffy letter stickers to finish off my title.

The photos I used were taken at my family's pond during our annual photo session.  It's always fun to capture some silly shots of my guys.

I used a variety of Pinkfresh Studio & Citrus Twist die cuts on my layout, adding foam to some of them for added dimension.  I used enamel dots, puffy hearts, and stamped the date and the "thankful" sentiment on a couple of the die cuts.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Sweet Baby

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here again today sharing a layout in my traveler's notebook.

I just LOVE documenting my precious niece.  She is just too cute!  This photo was one of my favorites from her newborn photo session.

I received a mini kit from The Wild Hare Kits and could not wait to use it.  It included a variety of Pinkfresh Studio die cuts, puffy stickers, chipboard, and a 6x6 paper pad.  I used some papers from the She Blooms collection by Illustrated Faith and a mini doily from Doodlebug Designs.

I love using chipboard on my layouts, but find it to be quite dimensional for my TN.  I peeled off a couple of layers of the chipboard and now it works perfectly- still dimensional but not too thick!

I layered some of the die cuts and puffy stickers, stamped the date, and added twine to the tag.  I used my tiny attacher to add a tab to the top of the spread. It's fun having things hang over the edge of the page!

For the title, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the word "Sweet" using a handwriting font and white cardstock.  Pinkfresh Studio white alpha stickers finished off the title.

I had fun adding another layout to my traveler's notebook!  Thanks for stopping by again today!
